About
I build back-end systems that scale. Over the past seven years, I've learned that resilience isn't about avoiding failure, it's about designing systems that gracefully degrade when things go wrong. I've deployed distributed architectures, optimized databases under load, and debugged cascading failures at 2 AM (and lived to automate the fix). I believe in code that is readable, systems that are observable, and infrastructure that doesn't surprise you. When I'm not engineering, I'm exploring open source, writing about lessons learned, and occasionally talking at conferences about why resilience matters. The best systems are boring systems: they work, they don't need constant attention, and they let your team sleep.
